Sloppy Joe’s is my go-to dinner of choice on those (frequent!) weeknights when I just.have.no.time. I don’t have to think about the ingredients. I know I have them all on hand. I know them by heart -chopped meat, sugar, lemon juice, and tomato sauce! – along with their exact measurements. I know it’ll be ready on time even if it’s 6:00 and I haven’t even walked into the kitchen yet. And I know that every single one of my kids (and significant other!) will scrape their plate clean!
Having said all that, it certainly is nice to change things up a bit. As long as it’s easy, fast and just as delicious of course. And this recipe fits the bill. We love it and I’m sure your family will too.
The advantage of this recipe over my regular one is that if I do happen to think of dinner in the morning, I can throw it into my crock pot and forget about it. And there’s nothing like that feeling of satisfaction that comes along with the heavenly aroma of dinner bubbling away in the crockpot. I don’t do it often but when I do a little voice whispers in my ear that yes I can be organized and feed my family delicious food on time… and it doesn’t even have to be all that hard! It’s worth it just for that boost of confidence!
I’m sure you wouldn’t want to let me keep all that satisfaction for myself… so let’s get cooking!!
